Grain Shop Street is located in Xicheng District, Beijing, starting from the east end of Dashilar Street in the north and extending to Zhushikou West Street in the south, with a total length of approximately 509 meters. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, it was named ‘Grain Alley’ due to the presence of a grain market along the street. In 1965, during the rectification of street names in Beijing, it was renamed to its current name and has been in use ever since.
Within the alley, there is the Zhonghe Xiyuan, built during the Qianlong period and still standing today, where renowned Peking Opera performers such as Cheng Yanqiu and Shang Xiaoyun often performed. In the past, this area was home to more than a dozen restaurants and hotels, including Taihe Hall, Yongsheng Hall, Xingsheng Hall, Quanxing Hall, Haibin Building, and Wannian Residence. Opening hours are subject to daily operational status.Must Read
