The Suzhou Grand Canal Heritage Exhibition Hall is situated across the river from the ancient city wall of Xu Gate, spanning two floors with a total construction area of nearly 800 square meters, of which the main exhibition area is approximately 600 square meters.
The exhibition follows the historical development of the Suzhou section of the Grand Canal, utilizing panels, models, and scenes, as well as a combination of multimedia, videos, and black and white old photos, to fully reflect the authenticity, integrity, and outstanding universal value of the Grand Canal’s heritage in Suzhou. It vividly reveals the close relationship between the Grand Canal and the ancient city of Suzhou, as well as the intrinsic connection between the canal system and the World Cultural Heritage – the Classical Gardens of Suzhou.
