The Grand Canal Heritage Exhibition Hall in Suzhou, spanning two floors with a total construction area of nearly 800 square meters, faces the ancient city wall of Xumen across the river. The main exhibition area, which covers about 600 square meters, is a testament to the historical development of the Suzhou section of the Grand Canal.
This exhibition employs a variety of media to bring the past to life. Panels, models, and scenes are complemented by multimedia, videos, and black and white old photos, all of which work together to fully reflect the authenticity, integrity, and outstanding universal value of the Grand Canal’s heritage in Suzhou. It vividly reveals the close relationship between the Grand Canal and the ancient city, as well as the intrinsic connection between the canal system and the World Cultural Heritage—the classical gardens of Suzhou.
Visitors are welcome to explore the exhibition from 9:00 to 17:00, except on Mondays and Thursdays when the hall is closed.
