The Lingshan Grand Canyon Tourist Scenic Area is located in Guangde County, Anhui Province, at the convergence of the Huangshan Mountain Range and the Tianmu Mountain Range. The scenic area consists of five major tourism functional blocks: the Lingshan Gorge Exploration Area, the Lingshan Temple Buddhist Cultural Area, the Childhood Love Leisure Area, the Wei Village Folk Experience Area, and the Bamboo Sea City Resort Area.
Inside the Lingshan Grand Canyon, there are long streams, steep peaks competing for beauty, high hanging waterfall groups, and various strange rocks scattered around. It boasts 72 scenic spots including Yunjin Waterfall, Caiyun Stream, Sanlian Waterfall, Xiangshui Pond, and Shengui Tuo Jing. There is also the thousand-year-old Lingshan Temple, which is as famous as Lingyin Temple, known as a Buddhist holy land, and was built during the Sui and Tang dynasties. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, incarnated as Prince Jin Qiaojue, and Buddha Dingguang, also known as the Great Wisdom of Zong Ao, successively practiced meditation here, and the temple is still thriving today. The Lingshan Scenic Area has beautiful scenery, integrating mountains, water, rocks, waterfalls, temples, forests, and caves, and has been favored by literati and tourists since ancient times. It once enjoyed the reputation of ‘Lingshan Spring and Stone are the best in the region’. Fan Zhongyan, a politician and writer of the Song Dynasty, visited here and gave high praise to ‘South has Lingshan, North has Da Dong (Tai Chi Cave)’.
