Guishan Scenic Area is located 16 kilometers northeast of Zaozhuang city, within the territory of Mengzhuang Town. It is adjacent to the only medium-sized reservoir in the area, Zhoucun Reservoir, bordered by Baodugu Forest Park to the north, and surrounded by mountains on the west and south sides, encompassing three mountains: Guishan, Sheshan, and Huangshan, with a drainage area of approximately 6000 acres.

The scenic area currently has dozens of attractions, including larger ones such as the karst cave, Guanyin Hall, the stockade, mummy tomb, Nine-Dragon Stone, Eagle Stone, Bagua Garden, Monkey Mountain, and the water park. The spring breeze of reform and opening up has allowed this historical mountain, sealed for many years, to present itself to the world in a new posture. Guishan, named for its resemblance to a crouching turtle, has an elevation of over 300 meters.

The cliffs around the mountain top are densely populated with flagpole holes set by greenwood heroes of past dynasties, with only the south and north sides being naturally accessible. Between Guishan and Sheshan, there is a spring called Guishanwo Spring, with the spring water cascading down the mountain ravine, creating a pleasant sound. On the mountain, there is also a mummy tomb from the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty and the ruins of Guishan Temple, as well as several natural karst caves on the western cliff of the mountain, filled with various shapes of stalactites and stalagmites, making it a part of Shandong’s geological park.

Guishan has a long history. From the Shang Dynasty to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, traces of ancestors’ activities are found all over the mountain top, with exquisitely carved Bagua diagrams, the incense-filled Ziyun Temple, and the majestic ancient stockade still faintly visible. The mountain boasts majestic peaks, strange rocks, dense forests, a sea of flowers in spring, abundant fruits in autumn, and is lush and verdant all year round.

Below the mountain is Zhoucun Reservoir, with sparkling waves and numerous boats, a sight that is truly captivating. The mountains and waters reflect each other, creating a living landscape painting. The first karst cave in southern Shandong is even more astonishing. The cave is over 600 meters long, with caves interconnecting and crisscrossing. Inside, stalactites hang upside down, stalagmites stand tall, water drips melodiously, and the stone walls rise high, making it both wondrous and spectacular.

Especially the stalactites and stalagmites, which are lifelike in their diverse forms. Opening hours are from 08:30 to 17:00 all year round.
