Guizhou Libo Small Seven Holes is a place that many consider synonymous with an enchanted realm. The pristine forests are so lush and beautiful that they leave one speechless. The river water is crystal clear beyond belief, and the sounds of the wind, along with the chirping of insects and birds, only add to the tranquility. It’s no wonder that National Geographic has rated it as ‘China’s most beautiful place,’ and Lonely Planet also considers it one of the world’s most soul-stirring landscapes.

Located in the mountains over 30 kilometers south of Libo County in Qiannan, Guizhou Province, the Small Seven Holes scenic area is named after an ancient bridge with seven small holes. More than twenty attractions of various sizes are scattered throughout, revealing themselves one by one along the tour route, making the exploration as joyful and interesting as venturing through an enchanted forest.

The verdant trees are so vivid and lush. The Emerald Valley waterfall splashes and flows gently downward. While it may lack the aggressiveness of the majestic grandeur found at Huangguoshu and Detian Waterfalls, the winding Emerald Valley Waterfall adds more agility and charm. The rapid waterfalls converge into deep pools, the water of which is as green as jade, surrounded by lush vegetation as if hiding this peerless piece of jade.

Just looking at the water is not enough; the fun comes from being able to play in the water anytime, anywhere. Walking into the water along the stone path, the stream water is clear to the bottom, and touching it feels cool and refreshing, a taste of summer.Walking slowly along the forest path, the sound of water is like a never-ending piece of music, always accompanying you by your side and in your ears, whether it’s the rushing sound when the water is abundant or the tinkling sound when it’s scarce.

The Small Seven Holes Bridge is simple and beautiful, covered with ferns on the bridge body, showing its long history. Since its construction in the Qing Dynasty, regardless of how the world changes, the stone bridge has always silently guarded this scenery.

The water near the Small Seven Holes Bridge seems to have been enchanted, the water surface is so calm without a ripple, with trees reflecting in it, deep and shallow, making it hard to distinguish whether it’s a reflection or if there is a real underwater forest existing below the water.

The water under the bridge seems like the solidified color in a paint bucket. It’s hard to imagine that water can also be described as gorgeous and give a sense of thickness without coming to Small Seven Holes.

The bridge is built in a rough and simple style, with the water flowing freely and uninhibited. While the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River are known for the human touch of small bridges and flowing water, the combination of the bridge and water in Small Seven Holes is full of wild interest.

The mountain plank road is built along the terrain and the flow of the water, with undulations that seem to take on the smoothness and linearity of the water. Several streams of various sizes fall leisurely from the riverbed, gather in the flat pools and then diverge in the flat pools, constantly changing their pace.
The bridge is a great place to take pictures and naturally, it’s the most popular check-in spot in the scenic area. On weekends and holidays, the bridge is always crowded. If you want to capture ethereal and beautiful photos, you must visit during the off-peak travel times. Speaking of which, isn’t that off-peak time now?
