Guoyunlou was built during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty. It is a famous place for collecting paintings, calligraphy and ancient books in the south of the Yangtze River. The three characters ‘Guoyunlou’ are taken from Su Dongpo’s words: ‘Paintings and calligraphy are just like passing clouds and fleeting glances to people.’ Opening hours: Open from Tuesday to Sunday throughout the year, from 09:00 to 17:00; closed all day on Monday throughout the year; open from 09:00 to 17:00 on National Day.
