Gushan Mountain is the earlier land in Jingjiang. It was originally an isolated island at sea and became land about 7 million to 2.5 million years ago. Gushan Mountain is of the same vein as Tianmu Mountain and Huangshan Mountain (in Jiangyin). It is the remaining vein of Tianmu Mountain and also a mountain in the northern Jiangsu Plain to the west of Langshan Mountain in Nantong and to the south of Yuntai Mountain in Lianyungang. Gushan Mountain is shaped like a sitting lion, with a height of 53 meters and a total area of about 5.8 hectares. The ancient trees on the mountain are luxuriant, with many big trees and dense jungles, and the whole body is green. The development time of Gushan Mountain is about 1800 years ago. People in Jingjiang built buildings such as Gushan Temple on the mountain very early, making it a religious hot land. Ascending the mountain path on the southern slope of Gushan Mountain, one can see Nieyun Square, Guansheng Emperor Temple, Earth God Temple, mountain gate, Sanmao Zhenjun Temple, Xianren Terrace, Guanyin Nunnery, hanging gate, Dongyue Temporary Palace, Bugu Pavilion, and Wangjiang Tower in turn. Beside the foot of the mountain, there are Jingjiang Martyrs Cemetery and Gushan Cultural Square. The Gushan Temple Fair on the third day of the third lunar month every year is spectacular and well-known far and near. Devout men and women come in a continuous stream to worship the mountain and offer incense. The flow of people is surging and jostling each other.
