The Haichunxuan Pagoda (also known as Guangfu Temple Pagoda), the first ancient pagoda in Jiangsu Province, is a building from the Tang Dynasty. It is located in Xixi Ancient Town, Dongtai City, Jiangsu Province. The Haichunxuan Pagoda is a seven-story octagonal brick structure dense-eaves pagoda. It is 20.8 meters high and has a bottom diameter of 7.2 meters. Except for the bottom floor, each floor has eight Buddha statues and niches, totaling 48. The inside of the pagoda is empty and there is no staircase to climb. The Haichunxuan Pagoda has no foundation and is built on the mud. Despite repeated earthquakes and floods, it still stands as firm as ever, which can be called a miracle in the construction field. The pagoda’s top was originally a copper gourd, cast with ‘beacon copper’. According to different sunlight, it can change into seven colors. It is now a national key cultural relic protection unit. Opening hours: Open from 09:00 to 17:00 all year round. Preferential policies: Children: Free for those under 1.4 meters (inclusive) in height. Elderly: Free for those aged 70 or above (inclusive) with senior citizen card or ID card. For those aged 60 (inclusive) to 70 (exclusive), with senior citizen card or ID card, enjoy preferential tickets. Students: Full-time primary, middle and high school students and college students with student ID cards enjoy preferential tickets. Disabled people: Free for those with valid disability certificates.
