The Hangzhou International Expo Center is located at the northwest corner of Qianjiang Century City and served as the main venue for the G20 Summit. From an aerial view, it aligns with the Hangzhou Grand Theater and the Great Golden Ball in Qianjiang New City, forming the ‘Sun and Moon Shine Together’ along the same central axis. The Expo Center covers an area of 190,000 square meters. For the G20 Summit, approximately 170,000 square meters of the International Expo Center were utilized, including the main spaces such as the reception area, conference area, and banquet area, which have been open to the public since September 25th.
Reception Area: Located on the second floor of the Expo Center, this is where the cars carrying the leaders of the G20 countries stopped during the summit. Passing through the six pairs of ‘Moon Gates,’ one enters the spacious reception hall and the reception hall, where many Chinese elements can be found, such as the four-sloped roof and the window lattice patterns decorated on the columns. Conference Area: The G20 main venue is located on the fourth floor of the Expo Center, where the opening ceremony and the first phase of the meeting took place. The conference hall features a large number of flower windows and wood carvings, with the most eye-catching being the large round table in the center, with a diameter of over 30 meters. Banquet Area: The banquet area on the fifth floor is where leaders attended the fourth phase of the meeting and the working lunch. This is a circular room with a diameter of 60 meters, and the center of the dome features a starry sky scene. The ingenious design here is the screen with patterns of the 24 solar terms, which looks very exquisite.
