The Hangzhou International Expo Center is located at the northwest corner of Qianjiang Century City. It is the main venue of the G20 summit. Looking from the air, it is on the same central axis as the ‘Sun and Moon in Harmony’ composed of the Hangzhou Grand Theater and the big golden ball in Qianjiang New City. The Expo Center covers an area of 190,000 square meters. For this G20 summit, about 170,000 square meters of the International Expo Center were used. The main spaces include the welcome area, conference area, and luncheon area, which are the three areas open to the public since September 25. The welcome area is located on the second floor of the Expo Center. During the summit, the cars carrying the leaders of the G20 countries stopped here. Passing through the six pairs of ‘moon gates’ at the entrance are the spacious welcome hall and reception hall. In the reception hall, many Chinese elements can be found, such as the four-slope roof and the mullion patterns decorated on the columns on both sides. The G20 main venue is located on the fourth floor of the Expo Center. The opening ceremony and the first stage of the summit were held here. The conference hall uses a large number of lattice windows and wood carvings. The eye-catching one is the large round table in the middle with a diameter of more than 30 meters. The luncheon area on the fifth floor is where the leaders of various countries attend the fourth stage of the meeting and the working luncheon. This is a circular room with a diameter of 60 meters. In the middle of the dome is a starry sky scene. The ingenious design here is the screen with the twenty-four solar terms patterns, which looks very delicate.
