Hanxiang Water Heritage Park

Hanxiang Water Heritage Park in Shanghai is a water ecological garden built in Pengdu Village, Maqiao Town, Minhang District, to protect the safety of Shanghai’s drinking water intake. It is a key tourism project in the suburban area of Shanghai. The park covers an area of 400 acres, adjacent to the Huangpu River, and serves as an ancient bridge museum, a protected area for famous ancient trees, and a rare classical garden in Shanghai that integrates water, bridges, pavilions, terraces, towers, buildings, trees, flowers, grass, and wood.

The park is composed of the Ancient Ecological Area, the Ancient Cultural Area, and the Rural Sightseeing Park. The Ancient Ecological Area primarily features rivers, ancient bridges, ancient trees, landscape stones, and ancient-style buildings, with a style that emphasizes simplicity, nature, and rustic charm. There are over 600 ancient trees over a hundred years old and 25 relocated ancient bridges within the park, which also includes two science popularization venues.

The Ancient Cultural Area focuses on excavating and displaying the water culture of the Huangpu River, the ancient culture of Maqiao, and the historical figures of Maqiao, featuring仿真 buildings such as the Maqiao Ancient Cultural Relics Museum and Dong Qichang’s Painting Academy. The Rural Sightseeing Park is mainly characterized by modern agricultural sightseeing, the rural life along the Huangpu River, and the display of local culture and leisure, including eight major projects: an agricultural ecological exhibition area, a riverside village exhibition hall, an aquatic economic crop zone, a fruit tree planting area, a fishing area, a shopping and leisure street, a farmhouse resort, and an agricultural technology exhibition hall.

The park is open to the public from 08:00 to 17:00 all year round.
