Hanzhongmen Square, established in 1997, covers an area of 22,000 square meters. The stone city gate within the square was originally constructed during the Southern Tang Dynasty (AD 937-975), also known as the West Han Gate, and is one of the oldest existing city gates in Nanjing.

Classical yet modern, the square is divided into four distinct areas: the Return to Nature Zone, the Stage Square Activity Zone, the Leisure Stroll Zone, and the Ancient City Wall Climbing Area, making it a beautiful landscape within the urban area of Nanjing.
