The Hecun Ape Man Site is located on the north slope of Longtan Cave, Wangjiashan, Tao Dian Township, He County, Ma’anshan City, Anhui Province, with an altitude of 23 meters. It is an early Paleolithic human fossil cave site in the Jianghuai region of China.
From 1974 to 1980, the site was investigated and excavated by various units including the He County Cultural Bureau, the Provincial Hydrogeological and Engineering Geology Team, the Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau, and the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. A hominid skullcap, some jawbones, and scattered teeth were obtained.
