The Hefei Science and Technology Museum is a large-scale science popularization themed venue. Located at the intersection of Huangshan Road and Hehua Road in the city’s garden-style avenue, it covers an area of 16,710 square meters and opened on May 26, 2002. The museum is divided into three functional areas: A, B, and C. Areas A and C are dedicated to the display of scientific and technological exhibits, while area B serves as a hub for academic exchanges, technology training, and office spaces.
The A area, shaped like a shuttle, symbolizes the vessel of science and technology and is the central part of the museum, with permanent exhibits located on the second and third floors, while the first floor is designated for temporary exhibitions and convention exchange areas. Area C is connected to area A via a corridor. Exhibits are categorized into: Electromagnetic Exhibit Area, Acoustic Exhibit Area, Mechanics Exhibit Area, Human Testing Exhibit Area, Optics Exhibit Area, Information Technology Exhibit Area, Mathematics Exhibit Area, Children’s Exhibit Area, Seismic Simulation Exhibit Area, Planetarium and Dome Theater, Rolling Ball, and Yang Zhenning Exhibition Hall, totaling more than 140 exhibits (sets). The museum is open all year round from Wednesday to Sunday from 09:00 to 16:30; closed on Mondays and Tuesdays; and open on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day from 09:00 to 16:30.Hefei Science and Technology Museum
