The Himalayas Museum, formerly known as the Shanghai Zendai Modern Art Museum established in 2005, opened its new premises in 2012. It is located within the Himalayas Center, a complex designed by the renowned architect Arata Isozaki, which includes a hotel, museum, theater, and branded shopping mall. The museum is dedicated to the concept of ‘sowing the seeds of traditional China, growing into a modern tree, and creating a harmonious and inclusive post-modern China.’ The museum covers an area of 2000 square meters, including exhibition halls and artist studios.
Opening hours are from Monday to Thursday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM; and from Friday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Preferential policies include: Children under 1.2 meters (not including) enter for free; Disabled individuals with valid identification enter for free; Military personnel with valid identification enter for free; Seniors aged 70 and above enter for free.
