Guazhou Ancient Ferry and Zhang Ruoxu Memorial Hall
‘Jingkou Guzhou, separated by a river, and Zhongshan Mountains are just a few mountains away,’ the ‘Guzhou’ in Wang Anshi’s ‘Mooring at Guzhou’ is located in Yangzhou, where Zhang Ruoxu wrote the ‘Spring River Flower Moon Night,’ acclaimed as ‘a single piece surpassing all of Tang Dynasty.’
Guazhou Ancient Ferry is not only a place for north-south ship and trade interactions but also a place for literati to express their emotions, leaving behind many popular poems. Bai Juyi’s ‘The Bian River flows, the Si River flows, flowing to the head of the ancient ferry of Guzhou, where the Wu Mountains are dotted with sorrow,’ and Zhang Ji’s ‘Heroes’ hatred, tears of ancient and modern times, flow eastward. Only the fishing rod and bright moon, go up to Guzhou.’ There is also the Zhang Ruoxu Memorial Hall here, with rich exhibition content. Sitting on a chair and appreciating ‘Spring River Flower Moon Night,’ the scene unfolds before us with the river as the background and the moon as the center, captivating the imagination.
Citizen’s Leisure Spot: Songjiacheng Park
When we visited, there were almost no tourists, only locals coming to relax and exercise. The park is surrounded by flowers and willows along a long running track. If such a park were downstairs from my home, I think I could persist in running countless times. The park is located in the core area of the Shugang-Shouxi Lake Scenic Area, covering an area of over a thousand acres. The park has 7 tennis courts, 4 basketball courts, 3 basketball practice courts, 2 cage football fields, 2 volleyball courts, 1 table tennis hall, and other ball sports facilities. It also has a 3-kilometer fitness trail and a city bicycle path, a music square, outdoor activity facilities, and water sports leisure facilities.
