Guazhou Ancient Ferry and Zhang Ruoxu Memorial Hall

‘Between Jingkou and Guazhou lies only a stretch of water; Zhongshan is separated by just a few mountains.’ The ‘Guazhou’ in Wang Anshi’s ‘Mooring at Guazhou’ is in Yangzhou. Zhang Ruoxu also wrote ‘A Moonlit Night on the Spring River’, which is praised as ‘a single poem overwhelming the whole Tang Dynasty’ here.

Guazhou Ancient Ferry is not only a place for north-south shipping and trade, but also a place for literati to express their emotions, leaving many popular poems. Bai Juyi’s ‘The Bian River flows, the Si River flows, flowing to the ancient ferry of Guazhou. The Wu mountains are dotted with sorrow.’, Zhang Ji’s ‘Heroic resentment, tears of ancient and modern times, the water flows eastward.’

Only a fishing rod and the bright moon, atop the Gourd Isle. Here lies the Zhang Ruoxu Memorial Hall, rich in exhibition content. Sitting on chairs, we admire ‘Spring River Flower Moon Night’, with the river as the backdrop and the moon at the center, the scene unfolds before us, captivating the imagination.

Citizens’ Leisure Spot, Song Jia City Park

The park is located in the core area of the Shu Gang-Shou Xi Lake Scenic Area, covering an area of

Tianning Temple

During the Anti-Japanese War, Tianning Temple was severely damaged. Since the summer of 1984, it has undergone major repairs costing over one million yuan. After the restoration, Tianning Temple has regained its historical layout of ‘a temple with five gates, rare in the world; two corridors and ten halls, rare in the world’, and has been opened as the Yangzhou Buddhist Culture Museum. The bright red walls have become a landmark presence.
