Understanding History at the Yangzhou Double Museums
The Yangzhou Double Museums, consisting of the Yangzhou Chinese Woodblock Printing Museum and the new Yangzhou Museum, are a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. Located on the west side of Mingyue Lake, facing the Yangzhou International Exhibition Center across the lake, it is an old traditional museum in Yangzhou. We went there as soon as it opened, there were very few people, and the entire venue was very quiet, a world apart from the popular Grand Canal Museum. Walking quietly through the historical context-based documents and artifacts, we touch the heartbeat of history. The national treasure ‘Yuan Dynasty Ji Lan Glaze White Dragon Plum Bottle’ is the treasure of the museum.

Gaoyou Ancient Post Station, Yucheng Post Station
Yucheng Post Station, the best-preserved ancient post station in the country with both water and land transportation, integrates postal services, government offices, transportation, and grain transport functions. It covers an area of over 16,000 square meters, composed of gates, drum towers, warehouses, gift rooms, postmaster’s residence, postmen’s quarters, and the Horse God Temple, among other buildings. It has now been listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit.
Although Yucheng Post Station is not large in area, it is the only ancient postal culture exhibition in China. Standing in the post station and wandering around the relics such as ancient halls, ancient post wells, ancient courtyards, and ancient memorial archways, when comparing with today’s logistics and express delivery industry, one really laments how quickly things have changed and how great the vicissitudes are.
