Hongyuan Tai Dye House is located within the Dongzha Scenic Area, originally established during the Song and Yuan dynasties. Here, you can not only witness the traditional process of making blue printed fabric but also purchase finished products as souvenirs to take home. The blue and white fabric fluttering in the sun-drying field is quite distinctive, with long cloth strips that look spectacular and are perfect for photography.
Hongyuan Tai Dye House follows a front-shop back-mill layout, with the front hall serving as a shop selling finished printed fabrics and the back hall as a workshop, including an exhibition hall, paste room, dyeing room, and sun-drying field. Although not large in area, it exudes a strong local flavor.
Additionally, this place is one of the filming locations for the TV drama ‘Like Flowing Years’, which fans of the show might recall scenes from. It is open all year round from 8:30 to 17:00.
