Ancient builders, according to the varying slopes and undulations of the mountain, paved the steps with slab stones, creating eighteen sets of steps, each consisting of three to eight levels, with varying distances between them, spanning a total length of about half a mile.

Today, the ancient slab stones of the Eighteen Bends have been replaced with cement steps, yet many visitors with a nostalgic sentiment still prefer to immerse themselves in the lingering charm of the ancient trail here.
