Huai’an Museum is a comprehensive historical museum and a center for cultural relics collection, display and archaeological research. It was established in 1959. The museum has a very rich collection of cultural relics, including many categories such as ceramics, jade wares, bronzes, coins and calligraphy and paintings. In particular, the engraved bronzes unearthed from the Warring States tombs in Gaozhuang in 1978, bronze carriage ornaments, double-chimney original porcelain covered incense burners and other important relics from the Warring States period; the wooden drum carriage unearthed from the Warring States tombs in Yunhe Village in 2004; and the modern and contemporary famous calligraphy and paintings donated by Mr. Xu Bopu in 1984 are the characteristics of the museum’s collection. Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday all year round, open from 09:00 to 17:00; closed all day on Monday all year round; open from 09:00 to 17:00 on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Tomb Sweeping Day, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival; open from 09:00 to 21:00 on National Day.
