Huaian Zoo has evolved from the original ‘Fuxing Zoo’ established in 1958.
On September 16, 2012, the old Huaian Zoo closed, and the animals were relocated to a new site. The main entrance of the new site is located at No. 198 Jiankang West Road (west side of the Willow Bay Plaza), and the secondary entrance is on the east side of the intersection of Huaihai West Road and Hanhou Avenue. The new zoo covers an area of approximately 25 hectares, nearly 8 times larger than the original, with the number of animal species increased by 3 times. The new zoo occupies about 360 acres, featuring various animal enclosures totaling 2000 square meters and housing over 600 animals of more than sixty species. Hundreds of types of flowers, plants, and trees are present, with a green coverage rate exceeding 90%. Opening hours are from 08:00 to 16:30 all year round; from 08:00 to 16:00 all year round.Huaian Zoo
