Huanghai Wild Deer Marsh is located in the core area of the World Natural Heritage site – the Chinese Yellow (Bohai) Sea Migratory Bird Habitat. It is situated within the Dafeng Milu Nature Reserve and the Yancheng Rare Birds Nature Reserve in Jiangsu Province, and is at the heart of the beautiful bay, Chuandong Port Bay.
Huanghai Wild Deer Marsh is a gathering area for wild Milu deer and one of the important transit stations for birds along the East Asian-Australasian Flyway, boasting a gene bank of over 300 species of wild plants.

Not only does it possess abundant natural ecological resources, but it also has unique cultural resources. It is home to the dark sky protection area in Eastern China and the Beijing Time Observation Station of the Eastern Eighth Time Zone.
