Huangtian Village, located in the eastern part of Tangqiao Town, Jing County, covers a total area of 25.7 square kilometers. It governs 6 communities, 25 mutual aid groups, 922 farming households, and has a population of 3,183 people. The village boasts 3,570 acres of paddy fields and 650 acres of tea gardens, producing the nationally renowned ‘Yongxi Huoqing’ tea, one of the top ten famous teas in China. Within its territory, there are military air defense tunnels built in the 1960s and a 5-kilometer national third-grade standard road that connects directly to Huangtian Natural Village from National Highway 205, making transportation highly convenient.
Huangtian Ancient Village, situated at the foot of Huangzi Mountain, has a long history and profound cultural heritage. It was approved as a historical and cultural village in Anhui Province in October 2006. The entire village is nestled among green mountains and clear waters, with well-preserved Qing Dynasty ancient residential buildings, representing a precious historical and cultural heritage. There are 57 ancient buildings, 110 individual buildings, and a construction area of 33,000 square meters. In May 2006, it was approved as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units. This year, Huangtian Fengzi River Landscape was awarded the first ‘China Classic Village Landscape’ title. The architecture of Huangtian Ancient Village combines the grandeur of palace architecture, the style of Suzhou gardens, and the characteristics of Huizhou architecture in southern Anhui. The village has crisscrossing alleys, interconnecting open and hidden ditches, and flowing water passing through the village. The unique cultural architecture of the ‘Foreign Ship House’, the traditional building material technology of water-mill bricks, and the natural water outlet culture of the ancient village constitute the three major national architectural features of Huangtian Ancient Village.
