Hui Xian Bridge is modeled after the Wind and Rain Bridge of the Dong ethnic minority. Its predecessor was the well-known Da De Bridge in Hui Shan, Wuxi. At the end of the 1950s, due to the excavation of the new section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in Wuxi, it was relocated here.
