Zhang Zhongcheng Temple is located at the northern foot of Xishan Mountain, at No. 120 Huishan Zhijie, commonly known as the Hall of the Great Lord. Historically, as a major temple for the worship of folk deities in Huishan, it plays a significant role in the temple fairs of Wuxi city. The temple fairs of yesteryear were held concurrently with the processions of deities, the ‘Gan Ouhu Festival’ (temple market), making them incredibly popular and bustling events. The main events include the ‘March Fragrant Tide’ (fragrant meeting), the Dongyue Temple Fair centered around Zhang Zhongcheng Temple on the 28th of March, and the Zhang Xun’s God’s Birthday Temple Fair (Zhi Zun Deng Fair) on the 25th of July.
