The Huishang Grand Courtyard, also known as ‘West Garden’, is a place where 26 Huizhou-style buildings from the late Ming Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty that were on the verge of collapse and scattered throughout the county were demolished and repaired. According to the principle of ‘restoration’, they were moved into the West Garden as a whole. There are a large number of ancient Huizhou ‘three carvings’ (stone carvings, wood carvings, and brick carvings) in the grand courtyard, and many of them were collected and purchased from the people. The entire ancient building complex of the Huishang Grand Courtyard integrates archways, stages, pavilions, gardens, waterside pavilions, etc. It is a combined residential group with residences, houses, patios, pillars, and many others. The Huishang Grand Courtyard is magnificent. The horse-head walls rise layer by layer, the eaves are upturned, and the pavilions, bridges, archways, and residences are integrated. High-quality ‘three carvings’ can be found everywhere.

Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:30 to 17:30.
