Huqiu Wetland Park is one of the important components of Suzhou’s’spatial layout of four-corner landscapes’. It is also an important carrier for Suzhou to accelerate the construction of ecological civilization. The planned land area of the park is 12.04 square kilometers, including 6.43 square kilometers in Xiangcheng District and 5.61 square kilometers in Gusu District. According to the requirement of building the ‘urban green lung’ in the north of Suzhou, the city’s planning department has revised the park planning scheme of 2006 and solicited detailed planning schemes globally, striving to highlight the cultural charm and characteristic style of the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River.
