Huqiu Wetland Park is a vital component of Suzhou City’s ‘Four Corners Landscape’ spatial layout and an essential carrier for accelerating the construction of ecological civilization in Suzhou. The park is planned to cover an area of 12.04 square kilometers, including 6.43 square kilometers in Xiangcheng District and 5.61 square kilometers in Gusu District.
In line with the requirement to build the ‘urban green lung’ in the north of Suzhou, the city planning department revised the 2006 version of the park’s planning scheme and has solicited detailed planning proposals from around the world, striving to highlight the cultural charm and distinctive features of the Jiangnan water town.
The park is open all year round from 06:00 to 20:00, with the east gate entrance open from 06:00 to 20:00, and the north and southwest gates open from 07:00 to 17:00.
