The Immersive Fantasy Show of ‘The Classic of Mountains and Seas’ – The Hero’s Journey is a collaborative effort between Chinese media and international visual art teams, based on the theme of the CCTV documentary ‘The Classic of Mountains and Seas’. The series of immersive night tours are launched with the opening act ‘Da Yu’s Water Control’ at the Nine Peaks Scenic Area in Xinchang County, Shaoxing City.
Located within the Nine Peaks Scenic Area of Xinchang County, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, ‘The Hero’s Journey’ features the unique natural ecological landscape of the Nine Peaks, using natural cliffs as screens and fantasy valleys as settings. It is modeled after the traditional Chinese fantasy classic ‘The Classic of Mountains and Seas’. The main tour route is approximately 2.6 kilometers long, including themed scenes such as ‘Chaotic World’, ‘Angry Touching Mount Buzhou’, ‘Hero’s Advent’, ‘Bear’s Water Resistance’, ‘Nine-Tailed Fox of Qingqiu’, and ‘Naming of Mountains and Rivers’ to tell the story of Da Yu’s water control.
Utilizing holographic projection, 3D mapping, motion interaction, online and offline game interaction experiences, laser matrix, and artistic installations, along with global multimedia technologies, combined with fog, lighting, scenery, imagery, and music, this show creates a visual, auditory, and tactile light and shadow feast.
