Instructions for applying for a visa to the People’s Republic of China

Please note:

The holder of the certificate must apply for a residence permit within 30 days after entering China from the exit and entry administration agency of the public security bureau of the local people’s government at or above the county level in the place of intended residence, except for those whose visas indicate “can stay for 30 days after entry”.

  1. Special tips

(1) The invitation letter can be a fax, copy or printout, but the consular officer may require the applicant to provide the original invitation letter.

(2) When necessary, consular officials may require the applicant to provide other supporting documents or supplementary materials based on the circumstances, or require the applicant to accept an interview.

(3) The consular officer decides whether to issue a visa and the validity period, stay period and number of entries of the visa based on the applicant’s specific circumstances.
