Shanghai, China – As the world’s leading international hotel group, InterContinental Hotels Group recently celebrated the milestone of 6,000 open hotels and unveiled the ‘InterContinental 6,000 Club’, marking another important milestone in the group’s development and providing guests with rich and diverse travel experiences.

The ‘InterContinental 6,000 Club’ includes a series of stunning newly opened hotels of InterContinental Hotels Group, demonstrating the global influence of the group’s 17 hotel brands and the high-quality service of the team of ‘being good-natured and treating guests with sincerity’, providing owners and guests with more diverse choices and a home-away-from-home experience.

On June 7, Keith Barr, CEO of InterContinental Hotels Group, rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange accompanied by local hotel general managers and employees to commemorate this milestone moment.

In nearly five years, InterContinental Hotels Group has continuously expanded its brand portfolio and added six distinctive hotel brands through acquisitions or new creations, better attracting hotel owners and also providing guests with more abundant accommodation choices and unique experiences. Currently, InterContinental Hotels Group operates 17 brands globally. The newly added brands in recent years include luxury boutique series: Six Senses Hotels, Resorts and Spas, Regent Hotels & Resorts and Vignette Collection; high-end series: voco hotels; quality series: avid hotels and extended-stay series: Atwell Suites.The number of open hotels of InterContinental Hotels Group is expected to increase by 30%. There are more than 1,800 hotels under construction, further confirming that the group’s scale and brand advantages are highly recognized and valued by owners.

Adhering to the core purpose of humanized guest service, InterContinental Hotels Group has also recently reshaped its global guest loyalty program IHG One Rewards to thank guests for their long-term companionship with generous rewards and colorful courtesies. The renewed IHG One Rewards APP mobile application and WeChat mini-program were launched on June 8 to facilitate guests to easily manage their exclusive experiences.
