The China Table Tennis Museum officially opened on March 31, 2018. The International Table Tennis Federation Museum and China Table Tennis Museum (referred to as Ping Bo Guan), constructed by Shanghai Baoye, officially welcomed visitors. The newly established ‘Ping Bo Guan’ is located in the Huangpu District of Shanghai, on the World Expo site, covering an area of 5000 square meters with a total construction area of 10389 square meters. The museum is divided into several areas including exhibition, public service, interactive experience, collection technology, and educational research, housing over 12,000 pieces of collections, and is equipped with advanced VR interactive areas, multimedia interactive areas, and a 3D cinema. Shanghai Baoye spent 330 days in the Shanghai World Expo Park to create this unique ‘International Table Tennis Federation Museum’ project worldwide, and has successively won honors such as Shanghai Civilized Construction Site, Green Construction Site, and Golden Steel Award. Opening hours are Tuesday-Sunday 09:00-17:00 all year round; closed all day on Mondays; and open on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day from 09:00-17:00. Service facilities include luggage storage: free storage for small items (within 45cm*50cm*40cm) is provided at the storage counter. Valuable items must be carried and kept safe by yourself to prevent loss or damage. Wheelchair rental: the museum provides free wheelchair and crutch services. If needed, please go to the storage counter to handle the rental procedures. Essential tips for group visits: groups of more than 20 people need to make an appointment in advance. Guided tours: the museum offers two free guided tours every day (at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM), and audio guides can be rented.
