This year’s Spring Festival arrived earlier than usual, prompting an early start to the New Year preparations after New Year’s Day. A cherished tradition from my childhood, buying new clothes for the New Year, continues with my own children. Embracing the fresh start of the New Year, we sought a shopping destination with a new atmosphere.
On a sunny day, I took my baby to Shanghai Florence Town’s Famous Brand Outlet to shop for New Year outfits. Among Shanghai’s many shopping options, Florence Town stands out for its authentic Italian charm, high-quality shopping experience, big brand discounts, and child-friendly environment, making it ideal for a full-day family outing.
Florence Town, as Shanghai’s first Italian-style discount shopping center, has become a shopping haven for fashion enthusiasts. It’s a must-visit for those who enjoy shopping, strolling, and photography. The addition of its second phase has expanded shopping options and introduced numerous children’s experience areas, catering to both adults’ shopping desires and children’s entertainment needs.
**Tips:**
1. Business hours: Weekdays 10:00-21:00, Fridays to Sundays and legal holidays 9:30-21:30.
2. Spring Festival hours: January 21st, 9:30-18:00; January 22nd to January 29th, 9:30-21:30. Normal hours resume from January 30th.
3. Ample free parking is available at different entrances.
4. Subway access: Exit at Yuan Dong Avenue Station’s No. 2 exit, with a shuttle bus service to the town. Walking distance is approximately 800 meters.
5. Address: Shanghai Florence Town Famous Brand Outlet, No. 58 Zhuoyao Road, Pudong New Area.
**Jungle Adventure at Fantasy Jungle:**
Florence Town’s proximity to Pudong International Airport made it an accessible destination. The newly opened Fantasy Jungle, a family amusement center with a jungle theme, is a highlight. Located in the town’s second phase, it’s recommended to park in the South District and enter through the No. 7 entrance.
The center features a 1:1 replica of Thomas the Tank Engine, a must-see for children. Unfortunately, the train rides are only available on weekends and holidays from 11:00 to 19:00.
**Enchanted Forest and Mini-Train:**
Adjacent to the platform is a staircase leading to the Enchanted Forest, where mini-train tickets can be purchased. The area is surrounded by shops offering children’s clothing and footwear with various discounts.
**Admission Fees:**
– Weekdays: 120 yuan for one adult and one child, including three hours of play.
– Weekends and holidays: 180 yuan for the same.
– Town membership card discounts: Blue Card 20% off, Gold and Silver Cards up to 30% off.
**Enchanted Forest Details:**
– Storage area available at the entrance.
– Non-slip socks required (bring your own or purchase for 5 yuan per pair).
– The amusement center spans two levels, with 16 attractions concentrated on the upper level, creating a jungle world experience.
**Attractions:**
– The Mischievous Castle: A popular playground feature for adventurous children.
– Jumping Monkey: Trampolines for children to release energy.
This family adventure at Shanghai Florence Town combines shopping and entertainment, making it a memorable experience for all ages. The large trampolines are divided into small grids, and staff are always on hand to remind each child to occupy one grid, preventing collisions and increasing safety significantly. The area also features many challenge projects similar to those for the brave, which are very popular among children. Each project has clear rules posted at the entrance, specifying the height requirements for children to participate.
There is a dedicated area for younger children called the Little Shrubbery. Older children can challenge themselves with the Magic Vine Fairy Trail, which includes a special helmet and safety belt to exercise and build their courage.
The venue also features many interactive projection projects scattered throughout the amusement park, which always pique the children’s curiosity for novel experiences. The Fantasy Football Field and the Strong Bow Show are simulated sports fields, perfect for a family outing. No wonder it’s called the Family Amusement Center; it’s not just a place for children but also allows parents to participate and share in their children’s joy.
The most valuable part of the experience, in my opinion, is their VR experience. The Fantasy Tour and Flying Snail are 4D VR experiences that would cost 60 or 70 yuan to watch outside, but here you can enjoy them at will, with a considerable number of films available. When the children are tired from playing, they can come here to watch and rest, which is a great experience.
However, the most fun and thrilling attraction must be their high-speed slide, spanning two floors and 15.2 meters long. The endless screams heard as you slide down are thrilling, with children going through it multiple times, even I, as an adult, found it exciting. Although due to the pandemic, each session is limited to three hours, it is still very enjoyable.
If the father accompanies the children, the mother can take the opportunity to enjoy some leisurely shopping time alone. A happy day is incomplete without sunshine and good food. After spending three hours playing in the Enchanted Forest, find an afternoon tea shop to replenish your energy. BUONISSIMO is an Italian coffee and ice cream shop, and their ice cream trucks can be seen all over the town. The blue and white vehicles are very eye-catching.
We visited their flagship store, which boasts a richer selection of items, including a variety of sandwiches and coffees that serve as a perfect lunch option. Naturally, children are drawn to their ice cream, which comes in flavors that are sure to delight without disappointment. The smooth and rich taste of their Italian ice cream is a treat, and during the New Year, they offer a buy-one-get-one-free deal, making it an excellent value. The most enjoyable moment is sitting outdoors, savoring ice cream, and basking in the sunshine.
The town is filled with numerous dining options, from affordable local favorites like Xiao Yang Sheng Jian, He Fu Lao Mian, KFC, Pizza Hut, to authentic Italian cuisine at Bella Vita, with many choices in between, including popular chains like HeyTea and Starbucks. The prices remain as friendly as those outside, so you can comfortably spend the whole day here.
As a shopping paradise, it satisfies the desire to indulge in the latest fashion trends. Before exploring the town, it’s recommended to check their public WeChat account for synchronized discount activities. In addition to the promotional offers from the brand stores themselves, the town often hosts additional discount events, especially during holidays. For example, during this year’s Spring Festival, there was a promotion where a single purchase of over 2088 yuan entitled you to a 400-100 electronic coupon, making the deal even more attractive (the event ran from January 13th to January 27th). Additionally, for a single purchase of 888 yuan, you could participate in an online lottery with chances to win Dyson products, luxury scarves, and bags. Therefore, staying informed in advance is key to getting more cost-saving information and enjoying the additional discounts. Unfortunately, we missed out as we arrived early.
We entered through the No. 1 entrance on Zhuoyao Road, where the customer service center is located right at the entrance. Picking up a map there allows you to quickly locate the brands you wish to visit. After all, this Italian-style outlet, which originates from Italy, houses over 300 stores, making it nearly impossible to visit each one. With the shopping guide map, you can set your targets in advance and choose the best shopping route.
If you haven’t signed up for membership, it’s advisable to register for a free membership card at the service desk. Both the No. 1 and No. 5 entrances have service centers, and new members will receive bonus points. During town events, you can enjoy additional discounts. New members registered during the New Year period (January 13th-January 27th) can also get a rabbit year claw machine game coin.
The entire Florence Town is divided intoTake your time to explore, as this place is truly a great spot for shopping and photography. For those looking to purchase international luxury brands, they are mainly concentrated in the North Luxury Corridor, including GUCCI, PRADA, ARMANI, LOEWE, Balenciaga, MONTBLANC, SAINT LAURENT, CELINE, Burberry, and many other international luxury brands. A tour around this area allows you to bring home a variety of items. It’s recommended to focus on basic, classic, and off-season items, as these purchases are generally regret-free. ‘Bags’ cure all ills! For women, browsing through bags is a great pleasure. The bags from LOEWE have always been a favorite, and my son, influenced by this, also chose a style he liked. Coach is a must-visit store every time we come to the town. Its location is easy to find, next to the Artist Square, and it’s visible at a glance. There are two full floors with a complete variety. Recently, their new collaboration with White Rabbit is very suitable for the sweet atmosphere of the Spring Festival. Kate spade is also not to be missed. The colors of the bags are very lively and rich. The key is that even new products will have discounts. I really like the clothes from Maxmara. The discount starting from 30% off for the whole store is also very strong. I love their quality and clothing styles. There are also many choices like bebe, SANDRO, and maje. So there’s no need to worry about finding new clothes for the New Year. Although online shopping is convenient, the pleasure of shopping can only be experienced in physical stores, and the quality is more reassuring. Almost all the stores in the town will have different attractive discounts. Especially when there is a special sale, you can really find many cost-effective styles. When we went there, although we didn’t catch the New Year’s activities in the town, we did catch the special sales of DKNY and BROOKS BROTHERS. The goods start from a 10% discount. Such special sales are generally similar to pop-up stores. If you encounter one, it’s a real bargain. Hurry up and take advantage of it.
Exotic journey, those experiences not to be missed. Speaking of the atmosphere of Florentia Village, it definitely deserves full marks. Entering the town, you can see Italian-style buildings everywhere, with a super strong sense of immersion. My baby has never been to Italy. The first time he experiences Italian style is in Florentia Village. The open-air buildings, squares, fountains, and the flagstone roads all outline the beautiful scenery of European towns. Strolling in the town, wandering and daydreaming have become a kind of pleasure. When you are tired from walking, just find a bench and sit down. With a random photo, you can definitely take a great photo. For those who like taking photos, be sure to go to the central square in the south area. Here, it’s not only good for taking photos, fun, but also beautiful! When children go there, they won’t want to leave because they have discovered the carousel on the square. Perhaps the greatest benefit of having a child is being able to play with him, go crazy with him, and relive childhood in a legitimate way. The carousel is open from 11:00 to 19:00. Don’t miss the time. It costs 40 yuan per time. For babies under 1.2 meters, parents can accompany them to sit. Let me secretly tell you that it is recommended to ride the carousel at night. After the lights are on, it is super dreamy and romantic, melting the hearts of girls. For those who like taking photos, don’t miss the same famous Spanish Steps in Rome and the same square fountain as La Dolce Vita. Without leaving the country, you can feel the pure Italian style here. The music fountain on the square will start every half hour and lasts for about 15 minutes. So you don’t need to wait deliberately. You can almost always encounter it. The gurgling sound of water, accompanied by light music. When the weather is good, the sunlight shines on the fountain. Children run and jump on the square, enjoying this warm afternoon. As the sun gradually sets and in the evening when the lights are first lit up, it is the most beautiful time in the town. The lights in the shop windows are all on. It’s like a town under a spell, opening up the appearance of a fairy tale world. Every step is like a dreamy scene. Under the halo, the carousel becomes even more romantic. And at this time, a large-scale light and water curtain show is being staged. Music, fountains, and lights push the atmosphere to the climax of the day in Florentia Village.
Small tips: Time for the light
