Jiade Youai Art Center (Ui ART Center), authorized and named by the Jiade Art brand, is a non-profit art institution. Located by the picturesque Yangcheng Lake in Suzhou, the venue actively organizes contemporary art exhibitions and art education activities centered around the theme of ‘life’. It is committed to promoting public artistic literacy and continuously explores topics such as the relationship between art and people, art and environment, and art and health with an international perspective and diverse art forms.
The name Jiade Youai Art Center (Ui ART Center) carries three layers of meaning: The capital ‘YOU’ and the lowercase ‘i’ represent the foundation of the art center, anticipating public interaction and emphasizing our relationship with society; Ui also signifies the perception of infinity (Understanding infinity). Every individual embodies the unity of finiteness and infinitude. Only within ‘finiteness’ can one possibly possess an ‘aesthetic’ vision and seek their ‘spiritual path’. Art serves as a bridge connecting you and me, and it is also a channel for us to explore infinity together. Beauty is a narrow yet pure concept in art, while aesthetics is the life process through which humans perceive pain and respond with love. The Youai Art Center hopes that every visitor can approach art with an inclusive mindset, not only seeing the beauty of artistic forms with their eyes but also recognizing the goodness of artistic content with their hearts, and perceiving the truth of artistic concepts with their souls, possessing true ‘aesthetic’ ability.
Art, environment, and health are the three key elements of the venue’s operation. We attempt to connect people with nature and society through art. By using art, we aim to enable life to be repaired, healed, and returned, allowing the fragmented natural and social systems to be reestablished, seeking the great possibilities of art from the perspective of life.
Opening hours: Closed all day on Mondays throughout the year; Open 10:00-17:00 from Tuesdays to Sundays throughout the year.
Preferential policies: Children under 1.2 meters (inclusive) accompanied by an adult, free; Seniors aged 65 and above (inclusive), discounted tickets; Students: Full-time university master’s and undergraduate students, as well as primary and secondary school students, can enjoy discounted tickets with valid student status; Specific groups: Military personnel, disabled persons, teachers, tour guides, and medical staff can enjoy discounted tickets with corresponding valid identification.
