Jiading Wisteria Garden is located by the Huancheng River in the Bole Road, Jiading District, in the northwestern suburbs of Shanghai. It was established to commemorate the 10th anniversary of friendly relations and the 5th anniversary of the establishment of friendly relations between Jiading District and Wakayama Prefecture, Okayama, Japan.
The garden began construction in September 1997 and was officially opened on April 22, 2000. Covering an area of over 10,000 square meters, the garden boasts more than 100 fine wisteria plants with various species, large flowers, and vibrant colors, including purple, red, pink, goose yellow, and pure white. The flower clusters typically range from 80 to 140 centimeters in length, with some exceeding 150 centimeters.
The garden is open to the public year-round from 07:00 to 18:00.
