Jiangnan Theatre in Jiangsu Province, originally known as the Experimental Theatre of the Jiangsu Performing Arts Group’s Xiju Troupe, was established in 1982.


Located at the intersection of Hubu Street and Yanling Lane in the economically and culturally prosperous Baixia District, the theatre is adjacent to the commercial strip of Taiping South Road to the east and the financial street of Hongwu Road to the west. With convenient transportation and a large flow of visitors, it is an ideal venue for cultural activities.


For the Sixth China Art Festival, the theatre underwent renovation in April 1999 and was completed in August 2000, serving as one of the main performance venues for the festival in Nanjing.


In July 2011, the theatre underwent a comprehensive renovation and was officially opened to the public. The theatre is elegantly decorated with a unique style, simple and bright with a sense of the times.


The lobby is spacious and elegant, and the audience hall is fresh and comfortable, with 513 seats. It also includes a luxurious VIP room.


The theatre is a modern cultural venue that integrates performances, broadcasts, screenings, and conferences.


Technical specifications: The stage opening is 7.5 meters high, 14 meters wide, and 15 meters deep. The backstage is equipped with dressing rooms and costume rooms, which are simple and practical.


The power supply includes two transformers of 400KVA and 500KVA, with 180 circuits of lighting equipment, 32-channel sound control facilities, 32 electric stage mechanical rigging, as well as performance monitoring intercom systems, computer subtitle systems, central air conditioning systems, and fire protection systems. The equipment is advanced and the functions are complete.
