The park is located in Jiangning District, Nanjing City. It is located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River section in Jiangsu Province. It mainly includes the areas of Xinjizhou, Xinshengzhou, Zaishengzhou, Zimu Island and Zihui Island when the Yangtze River is at low water level. Xinjizhou Wetland Park is a multi-functional protected area with national wetland park, national copperfish reserve, finless porpoise reserve, ecological red line control area and drinking water source protection area as the main body. The wetland ecosystem has a complete structure.
