Xuanbao Town, located in Taixing City, is celebrated as the ‘First Ginkgo Town in China’. Its core area, centered around Zhanghe, is home to an impressive collection of over 13,800 ginkgo trees. Among these, there are three ancient ginkgo trees that have stood for over a thousand years, more than 1,600 that are over 200 years old, and over 3,800 that are over a hundred years old. This constitutes a rare ancient ginkgo population, not only in China but also around the world.
The ancient ginkgo trees of Taixing are characterized by their vast canopies and short trunks, creating a distinctive silhouette. These large trees either encircle villages or are scattered along ditches and roadsides, naturally integrating with the landscape to form a picturesque scene. The canopy of each tree, like a gathering of umbrellas, offers a beautiful contrast with the changing seasons, each presenting its own unique beauty.
Recognized by experts and scholars as “a wonder of nature and a paradise for leisure,” the park is open to visitors all year round, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
