Jianmen Scenic Area is located at the peak of Jinfeng in Yushan, with an elevation of 261 meters, and is renowned for its stone scenery. It is said that King Wu of the Wu State tested his sword here, splitting a stone with one strike, creating two stone gates with a narrow opening. Emperor Kangxi’s imperial inscription ‘Yanlan Gaokuang’ and the jade seal are engraved on the giant stone of Jianmen. Below Jianmen, there are cliff inscriptions from famous figures of the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Within the scenic area, there are also attractions such as Gui Xiang Garden, Fu Shui Qing Yan, Qu Shi Si’s Tomb, Song Feng Pavilion, Cang Hai Temple, Bao Guo Court, and Fu Shui Shuang Qiao. Climbing to the top of Jianmen, one can enjoy the refreshing mountain breeze, a broad view, crisscrossing lakes, interlacing paths, scattered farmhouses, and leisurely boats, all in one panoramic view. The area is open all year round from 8:00 to 16:00.
