Jiaxian Square is located in Hongmei Park. It is of brick-wood structure with bracket sets decoration, upturned eaves and pointed corners. The square is 8 meters high, 11 meters wide and 1.4 meters thick. It forms a charming contrast with the nearby Wenbi Tower, presenting a proper combination of relaxation and tension, as well as an ancient and grand atmosphere. On the east and west sides of the square are couplets: ‘The prosperity of Yanjing lasts for generations, and the noble spirit of ceding the state prevails.’ and ‘In the Spring and Autumn Period, people fought for power regardless of kinship. Who can be like Jizha who always ceded the state?’. From these couplets, it can be seen that they describe the fourth son of King of Wu State in the Spring and Autumn Period – Jizha.
