Zaiqing Villa, also known as Jin Jiu’s Refuge, is located by the Nanbei Lake, with Jinniu Mountain as its backdrop. It is one of the earliest modern villas in the Nanbei Lake scenic area. The villa is named ‘Zaiqing’.
Jin Jiu’s Refuge is a testament to the friendship between China and South Korea. In 1932, after organizing the ‘Hongkou Park’ bombing incident in Shanghai, the Korean national hero Jin Jiu took refuge in Zaiqing Villa at Nanbei Lake for half a year, marking a memorable chapter in the history of Sino-Korean friendship.

Inside the main hall of the villa, there is a plaque that reads ‘Jin Jiu’s Refuge’, calligraphy by Jin Jiu that says ‘Conscience for Nation Building’ and ‘Spirit of Independence’, as well as a bronze statue of Mr. Jin Jiu. The exhibition room features photographic materials and various books on ‘The Life of Jin Jiu’ and ‘The Refuge Experience’.
