Jinghu Park in Wuhu is composed of two parts: the larger Jinghu, commonly known as ‘Taotang’, and the smaller Jinghu, known as ‘Wangjia Field’. It was formed by the Song Dynasty poet Zhang Xiaoxiang who donated a hundred acres of land to create the lake. Located in the urban area, Jinghu Park is adjacent to the bustling Zhongshan Road pedestrian street and Jiuzhi Square in Wuhu, with a water surface area of over two hundred acres. Due to its clear water that reflects like a round mirror, and the phrase ‘water only competes in the form of reflection’, it is named ‘Jinghu’. Within the Jinghu Scenic Area, pavilions and towers are visible to each other, with winding bridges and long corridors interconnecting; under the shade of willows, the statue of Wuhu native historical and cultural celebrity Xiao Yuncong, the library of Ah Ying, and the memorial pavilion of Wang Buwen are scattered throughout; various modern architectural complexes stand around the lake, adding a rich urban atmosphere and modern scenery to the famous historical landscape ‘Jinghu Willows’. Wuhu’s Jinghu Park, with its ‘Jinghu Willows’, is one of the ancient ‘Wuhu Eight Scenic Spots’. The park is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
