Jinniu Lake, formerly known as Jinniu Mountain Reservoir, holds a capacity of 96 million cubic meters of water and is one of the largest artificial lakes in Nanjing City. The lake is named after the mountain, and the mountain is enhanced by the water. The lake surface is vast and mirror-like, with a winding shoreline and shaded by lush green trees. Known as a ‘natural oxygen bar,’ Jinniu Lake Scenic Area boasts abundant tourism resources and well-preserved ecological environment. Ancient trees and rare plants, along with colorful flowers and grasses, cover an area of 5,000 acres with a vegetation coverage rate of 90%, enriching the forest landscape. A large number of wild animals such as rabbits, ducks, and egrets inhabit the scenic area, forming a beautiful natural landscape; artificially fed peacocks and swans, among other precious birds, are delightful to visitors. Here, mountains, water, forests, and birds coexist harmoniously, creating a unique picture of nature.
The food in the scenic area is characterized by unique rural cuisine and natural lake delicacies, represented by the ‘Lake Fresh Feast,’ which integrates the local food culture of Jinling and Luhe.
