Jiuhua Tianchi is located in Maya, Guichi District, Chizhou City. It is a national 4A-level tourist scenic area and one of the first batch of scenic spots in Anhui Province. It is 25 kilometers away from the national 5A-level scenic area – Jiuhua Mountain, 15 kilometers away from the main urban area of Chizhou City, Chizhou Railway Station and the Yangtze River tourist dock, and 5 kilometers away from the Jiuhua Mountain entrance and exit of Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway. The total area of the scenic area is 20 square kilometers, and the water area is more than 500,000 square meters. The scenic area is composed of four parts: Longchi, Tianchi, Glacier Stone Valley and Furong Peak. The natural ecology is original and the landscape is peculiar. There are natural landscapes such as canyons, streams, waterfalls, strange trees, strange rocks, alpine lakes, and bamboo seas. There are also human landscapes such as red mountain villages, power stations, and tea gardens. A large number of glacial erratic boulders are stacked in the stone valley. The underground river surges undercurrents, presenting a unique and wonderful sight. The caves are connected to each other, and the spring water is clear to the bottom. In the stone valley, trees and stones embrace each other, and ancient vines are intertwined, forming a giant natural bonsai. The deep woods, fresh air, static boulders, and dynamic rapids and waterfalls flying down form the spectacle of ‘the Milky Way hanging green water’, which can be called a unique sight in the south of the Yangtze River.
