Jiyang Lake Ecological Park is located in the south of Zhangjiagang urban area, 2 kilometers away from the city center. The planned total area is 4.41 square kilometers, and the green space rate is over 70%. The central water area of Jiyang Lake covers an area of 1,000 mu. It is an artificial lake excavated by centralized soil extraction when building the along-the-river expressway in 2000. This measure not only saves 2,000 mu of cultivated land along the line and protects the surrounding environment, but also plays an important role in expanding the city scale, improving the living environment, and inheriting the ancient Jiyang Lake culture. The east of the park is the lakeside international luxury residential area. In the north are luxury residential areas built near the lake such as Lijing Huadu, Jiyang Lake No. 1, Blue Lake Bay, and Peninsula International. The southwest delta will be built into a large ecological community covering an area of 1,000 mu. In the northwest is the business and commercial street and financial business center. Along the South Second Ring Road, an artificial wetland covering an area of more than 400 mu and about 1.6 kilometers long will be built. The water of Jiyang Lake is injected into the wetland through an 800-meter artificial canal. After seven levels of wetland purification, it flows back into the lake to complete the water circulation and water quality purification. On the west side of the lake is the already completed and opened Jinghu Park with ecological education as the theme, in which there is an ecological education exhibition center covering an area of 1,000 square meters. In the middle of the lake is Luozhou Island, covering an area of 60 mu, which is a place for wild birds and animals to inhabit and reproduce. In the east are the already completed and opened Holiday Park, leisure sports center (golf driving range), lakeside square, Yaqu Garden, open-air stage and other landscapes. Opposite the square is a 100-meter music fountain. On the south side of the lake is the completed and opened waterfront leisure resort area, covering an area of 450 mu. It is extremely rich in Jiangnan garden characteristics and is a good place for citizens to relax. On the southeast side is the Happy World mainly for children’s entertainment. Open all day throughout the year.
