In the past, the temple was close to the sea. According to legend, a wooden statue of King Kang floated there, so residents built a temple to worship it. Later, the temple was built in the 10th year of Xianfeng (1860). The temple enshrines gods and Buddhas such as Kang Gongzhenjun, Nanhai Guangli Hongsheng King, Xishan Jinshenghou King, the Sixth Patriarch and Hua Tuo.
