Shanghai’s Sakura NEXT LEVEL: Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom, A Spring Romance

In early April, the fleeting spectacle of cherry blossoms adorned the Shanghai skyline, adding a touch of spring romance. The newly completed KOMPAN children’s playground, nestled amidst the cherry blossoms in Shanghai Half Marathon Suhe Park (Shoreline Park Phase II), has quickly become a popular spot for parents to bring their children to play.

Shoreline Park Phase II, located at Qianyang Road Guangfu West Road, officially opened to the public on February 7th this year. This park is the largest to open in Putuo District, Shanghai, since 2023, spanning an impressive 46,000 square meters. It offers a variety of activities for different groups, including leisurely walks, fitness running, and family entertainment, ensuring that everyone can find their comfort zone.

The park features over 40 varieties of approximately 700 green trees and plants, such as water firs, cherry blossoms, and roses, which form themed areas and contribute to the creation of a beautiful and elegant riverside landscape space.

Beyond the lush greenery and recreational facilities, Putuo District has incorporated two thoughtful details in the design of Phase II of the Shoreline Park to enhance the garden experience for citizens through rich terrain spatial changes. One feature is a sand pit and water platform specially designed for children, which, with an area of 1,100 square meters, is the largest sand pit along the Putuo section of the Suzhou River. The other is a camping lawn area of about 2,200 square meters, catering to the preferences of citizens who enjoy traveling with their families.The sand pit area along the lake will be found to be a vast sand pit area, regularly maintained by professionals to ensure the texture of the sand is soft and delicate, as if you are between the beaches. Children’s love for playing in the sand is indescribable. The colorful equipment attracts children who climb to the top of the tower to enjoy the scenery from different angles and share their joy with friends. Then, they slide down the slides in an orderly manner, experiencing the extra thrill. This series of activities exercises children’s physical coordination, courage, and adaptability.

Surrounding the whirlwind tower in the design renderings are a series of exciting facilities such as thrilling spinning bowls and small capsule swings, allowing children to fully enjoy the fun of games. They communicate with each other here, sharing their exploits of climbing the whirlwind tower and enhancing their language communication skills.

To meet the needs of younger children, play facilities suitable for them, such as rocking horses, small barrels, and small game house slides, are specially set up next to the whirlwind tower. This small world not only provides children with the space to play freely but, more importantly, some of the products use KOMPAN low-carbon environmental protection equipment, in line with the ecological environmental protection purpose of Suzhou River. It creates a safe and meaningful playground for children, cultivating their environmental awareness and social responsibility.
