The ‘Red House’, also known as the site where ‘The March of the Volunteers’ was recorded, was built in 1921. This residence, named for its red-tiled roof and red brick exterior, is a landmark in Shanghai. Originally owned by two French merchants, it was later acquired by the French Pathé Records (EMI) in the 1930s. In 1934, Nie Er became the head of the music department of the company. The villa is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00 to 17:00, and closed all day on Mondays. Please note that the operating status may vary depending on the day.
