Lanfeng Mountain Scenic Area is located in the southern part of Liyang City, Jiangsu Province, within the Nanshan Mountain Range in Daibu Town, at the junction of Tianmu Lake and Nanshan Bamboo Sea. It is adjacent to Nanshan Bamboo Sea in the east, borders Xinhang Town in Guangde County, Anhui Province in the south, and is backed by Tianmu Lake in the west, with Liyang No.1 Highway passing through. Liyang Jinniu Ridge, Huanggang Ridge, and Lanfeng Mountain form the ‘Iron Triangle’ of Nanshan, collectively known as Liyang Nanshan. Among them, Guodi Mountain has an elevation of 541 meters and is part of the extended area of the Tianmu Mountain Range. Large patches of Phraek bamboo cling to the mountains and rocks, lush and tall, extending from the foot of the mountain to the mid-slopes. Guodi Mountain resembles an overturned cooking pot with the bottom facing up. According to research, Guodi Mountain is composed of quartz sandstone from the Paleozoic Devonian and volcanic rock from the Mesozoic Jurassic, with many rugged and steep mountain bodies, and faults crisscrossing, possibly formed from volcanic eruptions and intense collisions and frictions between old and new geological structures after cooling, belonging to the extended area of the Tianmu Mountain Range. Lanfeng Mountain Scenic Area is situated on the western side, boasting rich tourism resources such as hills, lakes, forests, bamboo seas, grasslands, and tea gardens. It integrates mountains surrounded by water, lush forests, fragrant tea, and is the core scenic area of Liyang’s ecological tourism. The area features layered peaks, misty mountains, clouds and rosy clouds, the sound of pine waves, gurgling streams, green bamboo forests, and the fragrance of lotus, captivating at every step. Looking back, the way is blocked by mountains, as if entering a peach blossom source, leaving the world behind. Records show that between 1356 and 1358 AD, Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang of the Ming Dynasty and his military advisor Liu Bowen fought and lived here for more than three years, with many legends in folklore… The predecessor of Lanfeng Mountain Scenic Area was Cuigu Manor. It began construction in 2006 and passed the national agricultural tourism demonstration point inspection in October 2007, with the manor hotel awarded a three-star hotel. It is an ecological manor in Liyang, Jiangsu, integrating beautiful natural landscapes, health and wellness travel, pastoral scenery, special leisure, and boutique tourism with star hotel standards. The current entrance to Lanfeng Mountain Scenic Area is open, with a large auspicious cloud pattern stone from Mount Tai engraved with three simple and lovely characters: Lanfeng Mountain. The entire scenic area is planned to be renovated and expanded over three years, with the first phase covering 2295 acres and the second phase over 5000 acres. It highlights the brand ‘Poetic Lan Mountain, Qin Charm Tea Village’, adheres to the theme of ‘outdoor sports, parent-child entertainment’, and strives to become a Liyang ecological tourism and immersive night-time experience tourism destination, as well as a digital cultural tourism demonstration area.
